“ I’ve been here twice so far, and pretty much enjoyed everything besides a couple of items. I’m giving this restaurant 5 stars because it has a unique menu. My favorite dishes was the French onion soup, wild salmon, corn ribs, kimchi fried chicken, mini hot dogs, and the creamed spinach. The creamed spinach was SO DELICIOUS & CHEESY! The dipping sauce to kimchi fried chicken was really tasty! The lobster pot pie was good, and it had a lot of lobster. I thought the biscuit on top could of been better. It was too dry. The roasted cauliflower was unique and very good! Three dishes I don’t recommend are the boardwalk fries, Mac & cheese, and the chocolate peanut butter mousse. The boardwalk fries tasted like they dumped a gallon of salt on top! They were inedible! The cheese to the Mac and cheese was watery, and it wasn’t tasty at all! The chocolate to the chocolate peanut butter mousse was TOO BITTER & you couldn’t taste the peanut butter in the mousse. The most amazing dessert was the cinnamon roll! You have to order it! It was FANTASTIC! The dark chocolate gelato was also delicious! Overall for being open only a few weeks mostly everything was very good! I highly recommend Hudson Rose in Nutley! ”

“ I just had my sons baptism and first birthday celebration this past weekend. I have to say everything was amazing from the initial planning with Mr.Binder to the main event. Everything was answered promptly and was accommodated as best as they could. Zoom calls and emails were so helpful with my busy schedule. The venue is absolutely stunning! Modern, roomy and eclectic. The food was just what we wanted and tasted amazing. Not a single complaint and my family can definitely express concerns! David the on site manager that day was also amazing from setting us up in the beginning to any other request we had during the event. Thank you so much for an musing evening. I would absolutely recommend for any type of event and in sure I will be back for the future. ”

“ I’ve never left a review for a restaurant before but this restaurant has me in awe. I had the most amazing experience ever dining at the Hudson Rose. My boyfriend Anthony (Tony) is an employee here and has always spoke very highly about it. Nonetheless, my experience exceeded my expectations in every single way. From the amazing atmosphere, to the outstanding staff. Don’t get me started on their food. Every single dish was extremely intentional and thought out. Even the smallest detail, like the garnish that comes on the dish makes the greatest difference. As well as all the unique dishes that sounded a bit off putting to me at first, however, ended up all blowing me away. For example the cereal milk tiramisu which would originally have steered me away but was truly an outstanding dessert. If you’re looking for an experience that will amaze, The Hudson Rose is the place to go. Thank you for an unforgettable time. P.S. If you are dining in do not be afraid to go outside the box on what you usually order, I definitely did and was introduced to many delicious dishes. ”

“ Overall, Hudson Rose is a well-appointed restaurant serving good food. It purposely seems to ooze date-night vibes, but considering its price point, some things fell flat in execution. The space: Hudson Rose is a beautiful space. It seems inviting, vibrant, and grand from every corner of the place. The high ceilings are great, and the booths and chairs are classy yet comfortable. It has many tables and an odd "conference room" style "private" area. That particular fishbowl space felt weird, but maybe people are into that. There is also a private space upstairs that's available to be rented out for private events. Food and Service: These are the areas where the details were lacking to me. When charging Hudson Rose's prices, the devil is in the details. Every restaurant decides to take a specific route regarding whether they will provide exceptional food or service. My experience here fell short in both areas. For starters, we went on a Sunday night. There were two tables occupied, and the hostesses asked for a phone number. This seemed unnecessary but was only more obvious, so when we received a text message 5 minutes after being seated, there would be a 15-minute wait. It's not a big deal, but the little things count. The tomato bisque, compliments of the chef, was tasty albeit a tiny serving. We ordered the Foccaia bread and Hummus (which tasted good) to start. The person who brought it out just dropped it on the table without saying what it was. The bread was not sliced, and there was no bread knife on the board. After cutting the bread, I was left with oily hands. Again, these are not big deals if it's a bar, but if it's a place that's trying to be more, these small things add up. I read online that the owners wanted to make a restaurant that makes a great burger, so going in, that is what I was going to order. I asked for medium and it came well done. I liked the simplicity of the burger but it was lacking in flavor. The burger comes with fries, which is not advertised on the menu. We asked for the burger to be sliced in half before so we could share, but it wasn't, and we had to ask for a steak knife and cut it ourselves. We ordered the chicken "parm" and got a side of fries. Here our waiter could have pointed out that the burger comes with fries, as we would have ordered a different side. The chicken uses thigh, which is different from other chicken parms. I liked it, it had more flavor and was more moist. All in all, I like the change from traditional breast meat here. Had we known the burger came with fries, we would have ordered a different side, so it was a disappointment in general. This really needs something to pair with it, and it would have been a nice touch to have the staff suggest a side or, at the very least, let us know the burger comes with fries. We ordered a child's mac and cheese, which was good. It was not too cheesy and had a very homey taste. Blue box mac and cheese fans might be reminded of that flavor profile. Finally, we ended with the Cookies and Milk for dessert. It's a big serving, and the presentation is nice as the server pours milk over the ice cream, whipped cream, and cookies. However, it's way too much milk; you should probably pour half and leave the rest on the table if guests want to pour more. It ended up tasting like a milkshake and a good one. The cookie could have been cut because when we went to break it apart, the pressure placed on it meant ice cream, whipped cream, and milk overflowed from the bowl onto the table. There was also way too much whipped cream and not enough ice cream. ”

“ The Hudson Rose was a great experience! The food is amazing, the drinks are delicious (and strong), and the service is wonderful. They were extremely attentive and ensured that everything was correct, paying special attention to allergies. Vanessa P. was our server and she did a phenomenal job! Would definitely recommend. ”

“ Definitely loves the Hudson Rose! Me and my friends all agreed that the restaurant combines elegance with a warm, inviting ambiance that makes it perfect for both special occasions and casual dining. Some of the most memorable dishes are the Caviar Dog (surprisingly good and creative), Filet Mignon (perfectly cooked), and the seafood platter (the small portion option is definitely enough for 3-4). The food's served quickly and deliciously, and you can tell how much effort the restaurant puts into making it a well-rounded dining experience. The service is also top-notch: professional, warm, and the lady who served us gave a brilliant introduction and recommendations on the food. Hudson Rose delivers an unforgettable dining experience. Every detail is thoughtfully curated, ensuring that people leave with memories of a truly exceptional meal. Whether you're a food connoisseur or simply looking for a special night out, Hudson Rose is the place to be. Five stars, without a doubt. ”

“ Hudson Rose is a great spot with delicious food, friendly staff, and a welcoming ambiance. The restaurant is clean and well maintained, and there is plenty of parking, which makes getting there hassle free. The drinks were also well made and enjoyable, adding to the overall experience. However, the service was extremely slow. We waited over an hour just to place our food order, and by the time we actually ate, it was two hours past our reservation time. While the staff was polite, the long wait definitely impacted the experience. If they can improve the speed of service, this would easily be a five star restaurant. I would still recommend it for the food and atmosphere, but be prepared for a long wait! ”

The staff went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect, accommodating us and our guests perfectly. The food was exceptional–each dish was beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. What truly stood out was the impeccable service of Eric(Hudson Rose Manager) and his team. The team was attentive, professional, and genuinely cared about making our celebration memorable. They accommodate all of our needs, creating an event that was both flawless and stress-free. Thank you Hudson Rose, for making our special day even more extraordinary.
